Short trip from the beach to the beach?

May 2021

Another shake down cruise in the RV. You can’t sort out where everything goes, what you need, what you don’t, improvements you want to make, unless you spend time in it.

May 9 2021 Sunday

We drove about 20 miles down the shore to Huntington Beach State Park. Yes, We left our nice home a bike ride from the beach to drive 20 miles down the road to live in a little fiberglass box on essentially the same beach.

Why do we do these things? Jeep enthusiasts have a saying “It’s a Jeep thing, you wouldn’t understand.” Rv’ers say “Home is where you park it.” Campers find pleasure in sleeping on the ground and carrying their belongings on their backs. (FYi, RVing and camping are two entirely different things.) It must be some deep seated human trait that induces us to embrace these strange endeavors in the name of seeking pleasure.

Wow that’s deep, we didn’t think of anything that serious during our 3 day stay at Huntington Beach. We sat on the beach, we ate ice cream, we encountered a mean looking water moccasin, we had a good time, don’t ask me why, we just did!

You know I can’t go three days without working on something. I put the visited states map on the front of the slideout and attached all the state stickers we’ve been to, Canadian provinces and Mexico too.

We drove 20 miles from the beach back to the storage lot, unpacked, cleaned the RV and drove home…..to the beach.
